Samsung Galaxy SIII Officially Available In Nigeria
Apple made its app store available in 32 more countries, with most of them in Africa. Not so fast, Nigeria isn’t listed. As at the last time I tried to access iMessage on my iPod, Nigeria was not among the countries listed. Samsung has overtaken the amount of phone shipped by Apple and they keep making giant strides.
Yesterday, Punch reported, Samsung Galaxy SIII was formally unveiled to Nigerian phone users at Samsung Brand Shops at The Palms Shopping Mall in Lekki and Ikeja Shopping Mall, in Alausa, Ikeja, both in Lagos. The new phone is the follow up to the very popular Galaxy II, which was critical to Samsung overtaking Nokia to become the world’s best-selling mobile phone maker.
This is the phone that is going to challenge the iPhone4s. not that Apple products are officially available in Nigeria. There are a few stores that sell it though. This is increasingly an opportunity for Samsung to keep growing its mind share in Africa.
The Samsung Galaxy SIII has already been launched in South Africa and Ghana, even ahead of North America. A photo on the Facebook Page of Samsung Mobile Nigeria makes it clear that the phone will cost N100,000. Are you set to pick one?
